Image Cataloguing Metadata Enhancement Assignment
Daydream are looking for archivists, picture researchers and those with prior experience of cataloguing digital images. The requirement is to enhance existing metadata applied by subject experts to approximately 30,000 photos for a client in the insurance sector. The current metadata has the necessary subject-oriented details but needs more literal descriptions applied to help improve general findability. The photos are for staff training and some limited marketing communications purposes
The client uses an existing DAM system from OpenText (originally Artesia). Archivists with prior experience of that system will be at an advantage, but general experience with any enterprise DAM (and a willingness to learn) should be sufficient. Some basic training to demonstrate how to operate the software will be provided for anyone unfamiliar with it.
Daydream are project managing the delivery of this metadata enhancement project. We will provide a cataloguing brief, including background to the client, written style guide and quality control acceptance criteria.
The cataloguing work will be carried out remotely from your own home/office and you will be required to quote using a per-asset pricing method (with quantity discounts where offered). You will be assigned multiple batches of 100 assets each and 50% will be quality control verified (with the whole batch being checked if any do not meet the acceptance criteria). Our expectation is that the work will require 3-4 personnel and will start in mid-April 2014 (with completion expected by mid-May).
To take on this task, you must be a fluent English speaker and have excellent written English skills. References and evidence of having successfully completed prior engagements of a similar nature will be required. Applications from off-shore batch data entry suppliers are unlikely to be suitable on this occasion and representatives of those firms should refrain from contacting us.
Please apply with a summary of your expertise (e.g. CV or Resumé) using the DAM Projects contact facility below We will follow-up suitable applications by email and may arrange short telephone interviews for prospective candidates.
